Family Support Advisor

Our Family Support Adviser is in school Monday, Wednesday and Thursday (from 8.15am to 4.15pm) and on Tuesday morning (8.30 to 11.00). Always ready with a listening ear to help with any family issue or concern.

Hello, my name is Dinah Kennington and I’m your Family Support Adviser here at Eggbuckland Vale Primary School.


Being a parent or carer and raising children is one of the most fulfilling things to do but we know it can also be very challenging. 
So its only natural to want a helping hand every now and then.  This is where I may be of help and support for you in whatever comes your way.

s a Family Support Adviser I’m here to support you as parents and carers, providing you with advice and information.  I offer a confidential, non-judgemental and impartial service to everyone connected with school, so please feel free to come and see me, call or email.  I will support you in any way I can.

 

Gain parents’ views and ensure these are represented

 Encourage social events  e.g. cuppa sessions

 Provide impartial advice and guidance

 Provide information on local services

 Signpost you in the right direct for the help you need

  Provide transition information and support

 Create learning opportunities for parents

 Help you with curriculum and homework issues

  Assist you to help with your child’s learning

 Support you with Family problems

 Offer guidance on children’s behaviours

 Accompany you at meetings

 Be there to listen
